Elections 2024: times and ways to vote

Polling stations open on Saturday 8 June, from 3pm to 11pm, and Sunday 9 June, from 7am to 11pm, for the election of the 76 members of the European Parliament belonging to Italy, the council and the president of the regional council in Piedmont , and for the annual round of administrative elections in the regions with ordinary statute and those with special statute (Friuli Venezia Giulia, Sardinia and Sicily).

To exercise the right to vote, voters called to the polls must show up at the polling stations equipped with an electoral card and one of the following identity documents:

  • identity card or other identification document with photograph, issued by the public administration;
  • identification card issued by the National Union of Officers on Leave of Italy, provided it is equipped with a photograph and validated by a military command;
  • identification card issued by a professional association, provided it has a photograph.

In the event that the voter has lost the electoral card, or in the event that all the spaces on the electoral card are occupied by stamps, it is necessary to request it at the electoral office of the municipality of residence, which will in any case remain open from 9 am to 6pm in the two days before the date of the consultation and, on voting days, for the entire duration of the voting operations.

Access to the voting booth is permitted only to the voter, except in cases of assisted voting. For voters who are physically prevented from expressing their vote independently, the law provides for the presence of companions.

The mobile phone and any other equipment that reproduces photographs and videos must be handed over, under penalty of a fine, to the members of the polling station before entering the voting booth.
