PISA. Computer scientists and engineers, but also graduates or undergraduates in economics, architecture, chemistry, physics, marketing – and technical and scientific disciplines in general – but also including psychology and law. Many of the opportunities are linked to Pisan companies, but the offers are geographically widespread depending on the locations of the companies ready to hire. The places available? Around 150, more than a third with permanent contracts (then over thirty permanent contracts followed by internships and apprenticeship contracts). All in prestigious companies starting with EssilorLuxottica, Aero Service Technologies Italy, All.co, Apparound, Caen, Garmin Italy Technologies, Gruppo manifacture Italiane, Sanlorenzo, Sesa, as well as excellent research centers such as the Italian Institute of Technology of Genoa, just to give a few examples.
The day
In total, thirty-seven participating companies have joined the Career Day 2024 of the University of Pisa, organized by the university’s Career Service and scheduled for today – Wednesday 26 June – at the Arsenali Repubblicani in Pisa, starting at 9:00 am. Numerous job interviews have already been scheduled, but interested parties can also apply today to apply for one of the open positions offered by the participants.
This is not the university’s first Career Day even if in this case, in addition to the location (larger also in relation to the large number of participants), the format of the day dedicated to job opportunities for the student community, graduates and graduates of the University of Pisa. «Our Career Days always also have an educational, informative and orientation value for our male and female students. For this reason this year – before the event which will be held in person – we organized webinar cycles with participating companies who were thus able to make themselves known and answer questions”, he explains Laura Elisa Marcuccidelegate of the rector for orientation activities.
The companies
The member companies operate in different sectors, mostly at a national and international level, with specific disciplines in both the technical-scientific and economic and marketing fields, from legal-political disciplines to the humanities. During the event, the information desks of the University and of Arti, the Tuscany Regional Employment Agency, will also be active.
Career Day 2024 was preceded by coaching sessions designed to help girls and boys arrive prepared for the appointment. Fundamental appointments to provide job seekers with adequate tools to face the interviews that will be held today and which nevertheless represent an experience of meeting, for many probably the first, with the world of work.
