Reggio Calabria: Assets confiscated from an entrepreneur affiliated with the “Labate” gang worth one million euros

Reggio Calabria – The State Police has implemented the provision with which the Prevention Measures Section Court of Reggio Calabria, fully accepting the requests of the Public Prosecutor and the Police Commissioner of the Province of Reggio Calabria, ordered the confiscation of the movable assets and real estate of an entrepreneur from Reggio, active in the production and trade of industrial packaging sector, already sentenced by the Court of Assizes of Appeal of Reggio to a prison sentence of 4 years and 6 months for the crime of mafia association in the so-called criminal proceedings ” LARCH 1” and, more recently, sentenced on 6.12.2021, with a first degree sentence issued in the context of the so-called “Helianthus” criminal proceedings, to 17 years and 4 months in prison for the crime of mafia association as a suspect , at the state of the proceedings and without prejudice to subsequent assessments on the merits, of the crime of mafia-style criminal association as an affiliate of the “Labate” gang, operating in the Municipality of Reggio Calabria and in the surrounding areas.

Asset investigations have shown that the entrepreneur, over a period of time between the mid-1980s and December 2021, had accumulated large capital, disproportionate to his declared income.

In execution of the aforementioned provision, an individual company, an industrial building and a plot of land, all located in the capital of Reggio Emilia, were confiscated, as well as two company vehicles and various financial relationships, for a total amount of 1 million euros. .

With the aforementioned provision, the Court also ordered the prevention measure of Special PS Surveillance against the entrepreneur with the obligation to stay in the municipality of residence for four years.
