Lamezia, ‘Creativity Day’ concludes the school year at the Manzoni-Augruso institute

Lamezia Terme – “Another school year ended with a great celebration, characterized by serenity and the joy of being together, which was challenging for all of us, but full of results and satisfaction, both human and professional”. This, in a few significant words, is the balance of a school year, expressed by the teachers in charge of Creativity, Gloria Materasso and Patrizia Caporale, who organized the end-of-year event of the Manzoni-Augruso institute, directed by the Principal Antonella Mongiardo.

The Creattivittà project – i.e. active creativity – was born from an idea of the school director Antonella Mongiardo, to create a bridge between different cultures and traditions, and to give impetus to interdisciplinarity, through the creation of educational and didactic activities relating to different disciplinary fields , from figurative arts to music, from history, to geography to religion. The day of Creativity, the final event of the educational-didactic program which was attended by an enthusiastic audience of parents and grandparents, was organized with the support of the digital animator Vittorio Viscomi and enlivened by the metallophones played by the professor Vincenzina Pagani and the young artists of the fourth and fifth grades of primary school.

During the morning, the students of the various schools – childhood, primary and secondary – donated the artefacts created during the educational activities to the representatives of associations and bodies, who, in various capacities, collaborated with the school, who expressed words of appreciation for the skill of the children and for the entire school mission, “characterised – as everyone said – by a great openness to the territory, and, at the same time, by an educational action based on inclusion, the valorisation of differences and by a marked sensitivity towards the different educational needs of students”. The boys of Manzoni-Augruso paid homage and addressed words of thanks to: Don Giacomo Panizza, for the Progetto Sud community; Don Fabio Stanizzo, for the diocesan Charitas; Dr. Alessandra Cugnetto, representative of the Pope John XXIII association; sister Anna, for the Mago Merlino association; master Enzo Failla, of ASD Judo; Domenico La Chimea, present together with the children of the Lucky Friends association, and Dr. Maria Gaetana Ventriglia, representing the State Police of Lamezia Terme, who collaborated with Manzoni-Augruso in a training and awareness-raising process on the culture of legality , culminating in the important demonstration on May 29th.

Satisfaction for the successful event at the end of the school year was expressed by the director Antonella Mongiardo: “Creativity – said the principal – is an important aspect of school education, which stimulates children’s communicative and expressive ability, as through the use of different materials and artistic techniques, they learn to create, to do new things, to test themselves, overcoming the problems that are sometimes linked to lack of self-confidence and improving their self-esteem. Our creativity day was deliberately scheduled at the end of the lessons, as a moment of greeting and sharing with parents, teachers, ATA staff and the many figures who generously helped and supported us in overcoming difficulties and pursuing our goals. goals. Our thanks go to all of them.”
