Toti investigation, Savona lashes the Authority: “No stop to practices and projects”

Public administrations, entrepreneurs and trade unions write to Piacenza complaining about “administrative action which has slowed down in recent weeks and an unjustified delay in time”

Savona – The people of Savona go on the attack to denounce the slowdown of the port machine and ask that the practices and projects affecting the ports of Savona and Vado Ligure not stop. With a letter signed together, the Municipality and the Province of Savona and all the representatives of the Savona port sector, from the terminal operators section of the Industrial Union in Isomar to the Port Users Union, and the unions express “Strong concern for an administrative action which in has slowed down in recent weeks.”
The they write to the ADSP commissioner, Paolo Piacenzaexplaining that if on the one hand they include the “right caution dictated by the particular moment”, on the other “we are asked to take into due consideration the needs of the Savona and Vado airport, avoiding an unjustified delay also with respect to important and urgent practices already instructed by the offices for short and medium term interventions“.
The reference is clearly to the investigation (even if it is not mentioned in the joint note) which led to the arrest the former president of the ADSP who went on to lead Iren, Paolo Emilio Signorini, is in prison and the president of the Region Giovanni Toti and the entrepreneur Aldo Spinelli are under house arrest. But the appeal is that the prudence of Palazzo San Giorgio does not translate into a halt to the projects and daily life of the ports. “In addition to long-term projects, such as the full commissioning of cable cars, which remain crucial for the development prospects of the port, as well as for its accessibility and for the interaction between port and city – explain the signatories of the letter – we they are also urgent activities that guarantee operational continuity, for which the preparatory work of the offices requires the necessary deliberative steps to be carried forward”.
Finally there is a passage in which port administrations and operators underline the importance of “preserve the concertation and comparison model which, supported by the Port Authority itself also through the latest resolutions on the organization of local offices, has allowed the Savona-Vado ports to pursue excellent results and imagine useful, significant and complementary developments for the entire port system of the western Ligurian Sea” .
