“Sguardi d’Autore” is the title of the exhibition by the Milanese artist Roberta Gerlo, which opens on Sunday 9 June at 6pm at 44°12° by Casa Spadoni in via San Vitale 34 in Ravenna, in front of the Basilica of the same name.
“The subjects of the works are almost exclusively human faces, in which the depth of the gaze, the eye and the experience it hides are exalted. Acrylic and bic are the techniques mainly used, often combined with other materials such as chalk and colored crayons. The preferred support is packaging cardboard, a poor but versatile material that lends itself to different and interesting manipulations – explain the organizers of the exhibition -. And the fun in this experimenting and mixing together techniques and materials is reflected in the artist’s works and activity in his laboratory in Milan, where for 15 years he has been teaching drawing and painting to students aged 4 to 94″.
