licenses suspended for two businesses frequented by convicted felons

Two commercial businesses, located near the center of Foggia, had their licenses suspended for 7 and 10 days respectively. These measures, adopted by the police commissioner towards the owners, are part of the efforts of the State Police to prevent social situations that threaten public order and safety.

The decisions derive from frequent checks conducted by the Administrative and Social Police Division of the Police Headquarters, by the Flying Squad and by the San Severo Crime Prevention Department, which revealed the presence of dangerous individuals in the premises.

Particularly worrying is the fact that many of the club’s frequenters, in addition to having criminal records, were not regularly registered in the members’ register.

The suspension of licences, issued by the police commissioner based on article 100 of the Consolidated Law on Public Security, aims to preserve public order. This measure can be adopted not only in the case of unwanted attendance, but also in the presence of disorder or violence on the premises.

In the most serious cases or in the presence of repeated violations, the mayor, on the recommendation of the Prefect, can definitively revoke the commercial authorizations.

The joint efforts of the police forces, including the Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza and Local Police, have already brought tangible results:58 pieces of goods were administratively seized for violation of the rules on trading on public land, 214 people were identified and 85 vehicles and nine commercial premises were checked.
