(AGENPARL) – Fri 07 June 2024 Arrests in Vittoria for attempted murder and mafia association, Sallemi (FDI): “The State’s response against Stidda is strong and clear”
“In the 1980s and 1990s, Stidda sowed death and terror in Vittoria. With today’s operation by the State Police and the DDA of Catania, the State gives a strong and clear response to the attempt to reorganize the clans: the three arrests for attempted aggravated murder and mafia association constitute an investigative success and congratulations go to the Ragusa Police Headquarters and to the District Anti-Mafia Directorate. In a short period of time, after the attempted murder of a former repentant who returned to the area like Roberto Di Martino, the investigators identified the alleged perpetrators who were reorganizing a dangerous mafia group with a considerable availability of weapons”.
Thus Senator Salvo Sallemi of Fratelli d’Italia, member of the Anti-Mafia Commission, following the Police operation against the reorganization of the Stidda mafia group in Vittoria, in the province of Ragusa.
“The resurgence of mafia tendencies in the city, the release from prison of criminal exponents at the end of their sentences and the return to the territory of justice collaborators have created alarm in the area and are situations that must be monitored. We also had the opportunity to talk about it during the recent visit of the President of the National Anti-Mafia Commission Chiara Colosimo to Vittoria. Today the State and the police have shown how the institutions work successfully for the protection of citizens and a healthy economy”, concludes Sallemi
