City of Latina 2024 music competition, all the winning schools – Il Caffe

The 8th edition of the “Città di Latina” International Musical Performance Competition closed with an infinity of absolute first prizes for the very high level of performances.

The event scheduled every year between the end of May and the beginning of June brought to the city more than 1500 young people, and their families, coming from all over Italy and this year with the international edition also from Lithuania.

The award, which hosts various musical sections, is reserved for children, teenagers and adults, who compete divided into different categories and age groups. More than twenty first absolute prizes (100/100) awarded in the different categories and many special prizes.

The winners

The “Ugo Scipione” Special Prize for the Best Flutist of all categories was awarded to Andrea Verginelli of the IC San Cesareo.

The “Lorenzo Baratta” Special Prize for Best Pop/Rock Music Singer was awarded to Maria Grazia Vanga of the Liceo Musicale of Capua.

The special “Gianni Proietti” Award for Best Cellist went to Giuliano Montebello. The Giovanna Flori Special Prize for the Best Youth Orchestra was awarded to the Istituto Comprensivo 2° Pontecorvo.

The Rotary Award went to the “Donna Lelia Caetani” IC Orchestra of Sermonetathe Lions Prize to the very young Lithuanian pianist Radvilr Mikalauskaitè.

The “Andrea Di Gioia” Special Prize for the Best Chamber Orchestra with Flute of the lower secondary school was won by the flute ensemble of the IC “Donna Lelia Caetani” of Sermoneta.

The Special Prize for the Best Choir was awarded to the children of the IC “S. Thomas Aquinas” by Privernothe award for the best high school chamber ensemble went to the cello ensemble of the Chris Cappell College of Music High School in Anzio and the Special Prize for the Best Secondary School Orchestra was awarded to the IC San Cesarean. Absolute prize also for little Erin Zhou on the piano.

Competition

The competition conceived, organized and managed by the Social Promotion Association “I Giovani Filarmonici Pontini” had the patronage of the Lazio Region, the Province, the Municipality of Latina and the membership of the Club for UNESCO of Latina, Soroptimist International, Lions Latina Host , Rotary Club Latina Circeo, Serra International Italia, Associazione Culturale Campana, Istituto Pangea e Riviera d’Ulisse.

The children will be judged by a commission of National Experts: President of the Commission is the pianist Paola Menichelli, the flautist Annamaria Diroma, the soprano Elisabetta Scatarzi, the violinist Karen Velazquez, the choir director and pianist Monica Molella, the guitarist Paolo Giusti, the pianist , composer, conductor Massimo Fornetti and the accordionist Cristiano Lui.

Accompanying the performances are the master pianists Angelo Palmacci and Claudio Inchul Shin.
