Ancona between sustainable mobility and tourism in Mediterranean cities

A thematic project on sustainable mobility and tourism in Mediterranean cities, “BOOST-MED- low-carBOn mObility and touriSm for ciTies of the MEDiterranean”, was illustrated and approved this morning by the council for the candidacy for a call that refers to the Interreg Euro-MED 2021-2027 transnational cooperation program (expiring on 12 June). The call includes an allocation of 44 million euros and concerns Priorities 1 and 2 of the program, i.e. A smarter Mediterranean (Smarter Mediterranean) e A greener Mediterranean (Greener Mediterranean) and promotes cooperation projects between both public and private partners located in the 10 EU states, including Italy, and in the 4 IPA countries (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro, North Macedonia) which overlook the Mediterranean from the north, for a total of 69 regions, with a focus on the transition of the regions involved towards a more resilient and climate neutral society. In today’s session the council decided to technically approve the “BoostMed” project proposal which in addition to the Municipality of Ancona as Lead Partner, it includes as partners: City Network – MEDCities (Spain), Territorial Development Agency – LAMORO (Italy), Development Agency of the City of Dubrovnik – DURA (Croatia), Municipality of Scutari (Albania), University of Aveiro (Portugal), Municipality of Igoumenitsa (Greece), Social and Urban Innovation Center of the City of Valencia- LAS NAVES (Spain).

The deadline for submitting project proposals is June 12th.
