The Alimentare di Parma increases exports by 15.7% (+227 million)

In 2023, Emilia-Romagna showed significant growth in district exports, with an increase of 5.2% compared to the previous year, going from 21 billion euros to 22.1 billion euros. Results that acquire even more relevance when compared with the national value of Italian district enterprises and if we take into account the challenges that the region had to face with the dramatic consequences of the flood of May 2023. Despite these difficulties, the region managed to maintain a positive dynamics of exports, demonstrating the resilience and strength of its productive fabric. This is what emerges from the periodic analysis of Intesa Sanpaolo Studies and Research Directorate.

The agri-food sector, with total exports of over 4.4 billion euros at current prices, also showed strong growth in 2023, led byParma food, which increased its sales by 15.7% (+227 million). The dynamics of export flows of the products is also notable Parma cured meats he was born in Parma dairy, with respective growth of 12.7% and 11.5%. Among the other districts in the sector, there were also increases Cured meats from Modena (+5.9%) and theRomagna fruit and vegetables which, after a physiological decline in sales in the third quarter due to the floods in May, closed the year on a positive note (+1.7%) thanks to the recovery in the fourth quarter of the year (+4.5%). On the contrary, two of the seven regional agri-food districts recorded a decline in exports; the Reggio Emilia dairy and cured meat districts saw foreign sales reduce by 2.7% and 11% respectively.
