The works have been handed over to the company that will build the cycle-pedestrian bridge connecting Civitanova and Porto Sant’Elpidio. After the stop in March, due to the revocation of the contract of the company that had initially won the tender for the construction of the bridge, the Region moved to start the procedures for the assignment to another company and yesterday afternoon it the official delivery took place, in the presence of the regional councilor Francesco Baldelli, with delegations to infrastructures and public works, together with the mayors of Civitanova and Porto Sant’Elpidio, Fabrizio Ciarapica and Massimiliano Ciarpella, the regional councilors Pierpaolo Borroni and Andrea Putzu, the deputy mayor of Porto Sant’Elpidio Andrea Balestrieri, the councilor for urban planning and sustainable mobility of the Municipality of Civitanova Roberta Belletti, the director of works Luigino Dezi, the technicians and representatives of the company. The Sipa of Bari will carry out the work, which must be ready by the end of 2025. It will be made of steel, with an extension over three spans, “twin” of the one built in Porto San Giorgio. “An important bridge from a tourist point of view as part of the great Adriatic cycle route project – said councilor Baldelli -. Civitanova and Porto Sant’Elpidio unite as regards services, in the name of the sustainability that man places at the center of the environment. On March 21st we wanted to solve the problem that had arisen and we are at June 6th: I thank the technical offices for their speed. We are sure of giving a great boost to tourism and services on our Marche coast.” . “I thank the Region, councilor Baldelli and the offices that did their utmost to resolve the bureaucratic issues – said the mayor of Porto Sant’Elpidio -. This work will be fundamental for the territory: it unites two cities, two provinces and will make two permeable territories that make tourism one of the main reasons for growth”. “It is a work that the territory is waiting for and will be strategic for sustainable mobility” said councilor Belletti.
