Crea of ​​Caserta, innovative technologies for the production of hemp seeds: Canaseme presents itself

Funded by the Campania Region (Psr 2014/20 – Measure 16, Submeasure 16.1.2 – Support to the GOs of the PEI for the implementation of projects for the diffusion of innovations as part of the strengthening of the Campania Akis – Focus Area 2), the project , we read in a note, “provides for the implementation of industrial hemp agrotechnics for the production of seeds through the application of innovative technologies to the seed”. The meeting, adds the note, “will be attended by representatives of the Campania Region and all the partners belonging to the project operational group under the coordination of the Scientific Technical Manager, Domenico Cerrato of Crea of ​​Casertain particular: Semiorto Sementi srl, Paolo Mancuso agricultural company, with the role of leader, the It creates cereal crops and industrial crops with the Caserta laboratory, Isafom of Portici representing the Cnr of Naples, the Departments of Physics and Biology of the Federico II University, the Cereris agricultural company of Procacci Francesco, the Irfom training body and the consultancy organization Projenia Scs.”

The Canaseme project, the promoters point out, “is characterized by its multidisciplinarity: Interaction of agronomic factors on seed production; Collection optimization; Improved seed technology; Innovative techniques with low environmental impact to improve germination; Healthcare; Conservation over time. The final objective of the innovative research intervention is the acquisition of: data on productivity and adaptability of the varieties being tested in two areas of Campania; elements on the action of biotic and abiotic agents on the plant cycle and seed production; knowledge on the influence of agrotechnics on the qualitative aspects of the seed with X-ray microtomographic study; information on seed collection and post-harvest management; Innovative technical elements to improve the health and technological requirements of the seed to obtain germination close to 100%”.
