No buyer for the “Torre del Grifo Village”, which was also deserted for the third asynchronous online auction which closed yesterday, Wednesday 5 June at 1pm. The base price was set at 15,193,500.00 euros, with an offer minimum of 11,395,125.00 euros.
Despite the reduction compared to previous auctions (the base price was set at 21,705,000 euros for the second auction), no one came forward to purchase the complex, which includes a multifunctional sports building, two covered swimming pools, a parking area, four football fields, a resort, common spaces, suites, offices and more. The future of the “Torre del Grifo Village” complex therefore remains uncertain.
Speaking of the sports centre, just yesterday the general director of Catania, Vincenzo Grella, on the sidelines of the presentation of the new sporting director, Daniele Faggiano, declared as follows regarding the discussion regarding Torre del Grifo: “It is a discussion which is subject to continuous evaluation. In the various meetings with the Board of Directors, as the main point of reference, I try to explain in depth the importance of equipping ourselves with a system to help the club grow. The president’s intentions are clear, we await what his next steps will be. The sports center concerns the growth of the club, the development of the youth sector. There are many reminders on this point and I will not stop making them.”
