The Carabinieri, yesterday, in the Municipality for some checks in the technical office regarding the Campania Shopping Center and, in particular, the collapse of the false ceiling near the main square of the structure. Today, meanwhile, the Urban Park of 167 reopens. Surprise, yesterday morning, among the many frequenters of Piazza Umberto I when two patrols of carabinieri of the operational core of the Marcianise Company they parked their cars outside the municipal building, then went inside. Many have thought of a military operation in search of some criminal or notification of crimes to some administrator. None of this, the police went to the technical office where they acquired several files by delegation of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.

At first, various hypotheses were made, as the consequence of a complaint made to the competent bodies regarding the release of some building practices. The military, however, were looking for documents regarding the Campania Shopping Center and, in particular, useful for the continuation of the judiciary’s investigations into the collapse of the panels of one false ceiling last May 11th. An event which, fortunately, did not cause any damage to people, despite it being a Saturday evening, as it occurred after 10pm when the shops in the Center’s galleries were already closed but also due to the prompt intervention of the structure’s fire fighting team, alerted by the employees. of the La Scimmietta ice cream shop.

The Centre’s staff, in fact, promptly intervened and removed the few people who were in the area and cordoned it off. After a few minutes the false ceiling came down. The Prosecutor’s Office, among other things, after putting under seizure the corridor where the collapse had occurred, the following day he also appointed two experts, Professor Gianfranco De Matteis and the architect Anacleto Fuschetti, former manager of the Marcianise technical office. Even if, as was said, the collapse did not cause any injuries, if it had occurred at another time it could have turned into a tragedy, as stated by the commander of the Caserta Fire Brigade, Paolo Massimi in the following hours: “We could have told a different story – he said – and a very tragic one if the collapse had occurred a few tens of minutes earlier”. The request for documentation which was then taken away by the carabinieriprobably, it can be evidence of clear responsibilities.

THE INAUGURATION

Meanwhile, this morning, from 10am, the Urban park in via Don Giuseppe Diana. The equipped green area had been closed to undergo a general redevelopment, modernization and safety intervention. The works started on March 26 last year, were created thanks to a loan granted by the Ministry of the Interior of approximately 100 thousand euros. Various works were carried out over these two months, such as the complete renovation of the anti-trauma flooring to ensure greater safety for the little ones and beautify the play area and the route of the internal paths with the installation of the new surface, as well as the safety of the fence of the skating rink. The municipal administration has decided to reopen the green area even if all the interventions planned to give families a space to enjoy hours of leisure in the open air have not yet been completed. The execution of the timetable of works compatible with the attendance of the area will continue starting from next week.
