SAN CIPRIANO D’AVERSA – The statements of Antonio Iovine and Dario De Simone are not enough, there is no certainty that he contributed to the quadruple murder of the Cutolians: acquitted

16:12:06 Giancarlo Iovine acquitted with the second paragraph. The evidence that he contributed to the quadruple murder of the Cutolians is dubious, the evidence that he made available to his cousin Antonio Iovine known as ‘o ninno, but above all to the leaders of the Casalesi clan, the locals of the agricultural consortium to spy on the movements of Antonio Pagano, Raffaele Cutolo’s representative, in order to eliminate him, as in fact happened on 22 October 1989. Or at least there is no evidence that he was aware of the murderous plans.

The statements made during the hearing by cousin Antonio Iovine and Dario De Simone, heard by the Court of Assizes of Appeal which had ordered the renewal of the documents, were not sufficient. Corrado Iovine had been sentenced to thirty years of imprisonment during two levels of trial, then the Supreme Court annulled the sentence with postponement for a re-evaluation of the evidence.

The deputy general prosecutor had requested confirmation of the thirty-year sentence, as had the civil parties represented by the lawyer Francesco Parente, in the interest of Rosa Pagano, and by the lawyer Francesco Lavanga, in the interest of the Gagliardi family. The accused was defended by lawyers Coppi and Esposito Fariello.
