They were allegedly responsible for the theft of at least ten cars in Aversa (Caserta), then trying to extort money from victims to get the car back, according to the method known as “return horse”. This is the accusation against five men aged between 36 and 50, residing between Aversa and the Neapolitan hinterland, arrested by the Carabinieri on the orders of the investigating judge of the North Naples court.

The suspects ended up in prison for crimes of theft, extortion, receiving stolen goods but also evasion and transgression of the obligations imposed by the judge, given that some of them, when they committed the crimes, were under house arrest and under special surveillance. The investigation, coordinated by the Prosecutor’s Office of Naples North, originated following the complaint of a victim, who reported that she had first been robbed of her car and then that she had been called by the thieves who had asked her for 800 euros to return her car. car.

The police reconstructed the various thefts thanks to video surveillance cameras and by intercepting the suspects; they then discovered that after each theft the suspects contacted the victims for the return horse.
