celebrate the important initiative. The project, conceived by the Del Carlo Foundation, allowed the school to access precious correspondence between the Del Carlo family and the famous composer Giacomo Puccini, highlighting the kinship bond between the two families. The initiative was conceived in view of the 100th anniversary of the death of the composer from Lucca, which occurred in Brussels on 29 November 1924, and aims to promote knowledge of the correspondence in the “Del Carlo – Puccini” archive collection, preserved at the Forteguerriana Library in Pistoia . Several groups of students from various schools participated in the competition, standing out for the quality of their entries. In particular, the 1st class of the Four-Year International High School and the 4th class of the Byron Linguistic High School obtained significant recognition by winning first prize with an excellent quality paper. In collaboration with the children of the 4th class of the English Primary School, an artistic calendar was created which represents, through drawings, Puccini’s most famous works. The illustrations were accompanied by a historical part written by the students of the Four-Year International High School, which contextualises their cultural importance. The calendars were then sent to the final year students who will leave our institute this year. The initiative was highly successful, representing an important educational opportunity to deepen knowledge of Giacomo Puccini and his works.
