They operated between Salerno and the province eight brothels and two nightclubs within which the prostitution activity took place. Even in a B&B in Pontecagnano Faiano the owner would have favored the illicit activity, making the rooms of the structure available to prostitutes and transsexuals at a higher price than that normally charged to other customers: the structure on the coast (Belvedere B&B) was seized. Eleven of them ended up in the network of the Carabinieri of the provincial command who, at dawn yesterday, carried out eleven precautionary measures issued by the investigating judge Annamaria Ferraiolo of the Court of Salerno (at the request of the local Prosecutor’s Office led by Giuseppe Borrelli): five house arrests, five residence bans in the province of Salerno and one residence ban in the municipality of Pontecagnano Faiano.

The Salerno residents ended up under house arrest Armando Del Giorno (50 years old), the 56 year old Pietro Schiavo; Adriana Pecoraro 48 years old, resident in Vietri sul Mare, Gaetano Schettini (43 years old resident of Fisciano) and the 43 year old from Acerra Pasquale Ferrara. For Mirko Coppola (34 years old domiciled in Salerno), Mario Votta (41 year old from Pontecagnano) Salvatore Loreto (58 year old resident of Battipaglia), Massimiliano Pironti (41-year-old resident in Fisciano), the investigating judge ordered a ban on residence in our province (the same provision was also notified to a fifth suspect, a 31-year-old Romanian who was untraceable) while against the 53-year-old Aniello Amoroso (owner of the b&b) the residence ban has been applied in the municipality of residence in Pontecagnano Faiano.

According to the reconstruction of the Carabinieri (the investigations started in November 2021 were carried out by the soldiers of the company and the Salerno investigative unit) the suspects – 19 in total – over time they would have formed three groups, becoming a real organized structure dedicated to the aiding and exploitation of prostitution using different houses: three in Salerno, in via Calata San Vito, via dei Greci and piazza Pasquale Paoli; two in Pontecagnano Faiano in via Flavio Gioia and via dei Cavalleggeri; two in Lancusi di Fisciano, both in via del Centenario, and one in Battipaglia in via San Martino. Every week, according to what was reconstructed by investigators and investigators, Del Giorno – after being contacted by individuals interested in occupying the properties (prostitutes or transsexuals) – provided directives to Schiavo, who, together with Ferrara, took care of accompanying them to the accommodations that they were assigned to them by Del Giorno himself. Furthermore, the occupants of the alcoves paid 50 euros per day (therefore between 350-400 euros per week) for the servicewhich included changing sheets, protection in case someone disturbed the comings and goings of people and other tasks, such as being accompanied for short distances to the hairdresser or beautician, but also to do some shopping, in addition to the supply of condoms. For longer journeys, a taxi service was also offered carried out mainly by Ferrara and Schiavo, but sometimes also by Vito Votta (under investigation at large), brother of Mario Votta (who instead has a residence ban). The person who signed the rental contracts was Mirko Coppola, who also took care of the electricity and water supplies of the buildings (the home owners were completely unaware of the use to which the apartments had been put).

The investigations have brought to light as from January 2022, Del Giorno (who in the past managed a nightclub on the Pontecagnano coast road) took over the Afrodite Red Passion club in Battipaglia, which, although it was officially a cultural, artistic and musical association, was in fact a club for the exchange of couples and prostitution: it emerged that in the previous management (there are a series of suspects at large in this matter) the Customers at the entrance paid from 70 to 100 euros per person and inside they found girls or couples who made themselves available for sexual services. And those who provided the services did not receive money from the customersbut at the end of the evening he was paid by the nightclub managers with a sum of between 100 and 150 euros, regardless of the relationships consumed or the number of customers present in the club.
