As reported by the local and national press, among many others, see Milan finance of 06.04.2024 and sole 24 ore also of 06.04.2024, following his visit to Melfi, the CEO of Stellantis Carlos Tavares throws the mask in relation to the factory being set up for the construction of batteries in the Rivolta district plant of King of Termoli.

Tavares stated “we will invest to be competitive on the market, but we will invest at the same speed with which the market grows” and we know well that the electricity market is currently growing at a slow pace, to say the least. A market essentially conditioned by the excessively high costs of the finished product, the excessively high costs of charging energy, and the reduced range of electric cars. So what? What will happen after these words from Stellantis’ number one to the fabulous capital of sustainability flaunted in an interview with a local online by mayoral candidate Balice? What will happen to the hundreds of jobs, promised in recent days by the usual suspects aspiring councilors looking for yet another reconfirmation, and who for years have based their power on patronage voting, deceiving thousands of families from Termoli and Molise? What will they say to these people when the factories of Melfi, Sulmona, Cassino and nearby Atessa march at a production rate that will continue, however with ups and downs, to guarantee jobs for those territories? (Carlo Tavares stated this yesterday). What will they say when the citizens ask, “what happened to the plant which, compared to those previously mentioned, opened its doors in the seventies and was directly connected to the Mirafiori plant and guaranteed the social and economic growth of our community?” Will they have the courage to say we are left holding the first stone in our hands? We should therefore all be united, to counter what is happening, it must be done by politicians but by those who are serious, aware, close to everyone and not just to customers, together with the trade unions to which I give my full support which from the beginning of the matter are fighting for the full protection of workers, all social forces must do so, because beyond the Termoli for drinking, the Termoli for aperitifs, there is a Termoli made up of families, of young people who want to continue to work and prosper in the their city. This is why I ask you to be united, I will wait for you for the closing of the electoral campaign on Friday at 10.00 pm under the symbol of our city, the Castello Svevo to share together what future we want for our city.
