AVEZZANO. Air Force soldier, vice mayor of a municipality in the Roveto Valley but also owner of a food truck belonging to a social promotion association managed by him which allegedly evaded taxes on 240 thousand euros. The judge for preliminary investigations of the Court of Avezzano, Daria Lombardi, has ordered a residence ban against him.
The investigations by the soldiers of the Guardia di Finanza Company of Avezzano, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor Maurizio Maria Cerrato, began on the occasion of a food and wine event where the financiers noticed the food truck and the checks revealed an undeclared income equal to 248 thousand 368 euros.
The soldier, in fact, could not exclusively carry out commercial activities and receive remuneration because he is a public employee. Instead, the soldier, through artifice and deception, allegedly misled his superiors for seven years regarding his continuous absences from service, providing false self-certifications as they attested to his participation in political-administrative meetings connected to the positions he previously held as councilor and then as Deputy Mayor, electoral permits, so as to be absent from work.
The financiers also ascertained that the soldier also obtained personal profit estimated at at least 3 thousand 175 euros for fees paid by the Municipality for the consumption of electricity, which he used unduly.
