Anti-money laundering and illegal practices in real estate brokerage: discussed at a conference

GROSSETO – The anti-money laundering legislation is one of the most delicate and important for the real estate agent profession: failure to comply or incorrect application entails the risk of suffering heavy administrative sanctions and, in some more serious cases, even criminal liability.

To provide useful information for the correct application of the recent provisions of the law, the Maremma and Tyrrhenian Chamber of Commerce is organizing the conference entitled “Anti-money laundering and abusive practices in real estate brokerage”. The appointment is on the 1st3 June from 9.45am to 1pm at the Grosseto University Centre in via Ginori 43, in the Sala delle Colonne.

During the conference, open to all and free of charge, the inspection activities under the jurisdiction of the Guardia di Finanza will also be illustrated with regards to illegal real estate brokerage, in addition to the tasks of the Chamber of Commerce to supervise the regular exercise of the activity by brokers enabled. We will also talk about the Consumer Guarantee Mark which is granted free of charge by the Chamber to real estate agents who undertake to respect the Regulations for the Use of the Mark and the criteria of correctness, transparency and quality in carrying out the service, defined in the Code of Conduct for the sector, adopted in agreement with business and consumer associations. The Guarantee Mark therefore constitutes an index of quality, to protect the interests of customers and economic operators and in order to prevent the emergence of conflicts between them.

Greetings from Riccardo Breda president of the Maremma and Tirreno Chamber of Commerce, Gabriella Papponi Morelli president of the Grosseto University Center Foundation, Serena Badiali president of the Italian Federation of Professional Real Estate Agents Grosseto, Luciano Bianchi president of the Italian Federation of Business Agents Brokers Confcommercio Grosseto e Nicola Piccinni Col. T.St. Provincial commander of the Guardia di Finanza of Grosseto.

Bianchi will speak on the topic of ‘Reform of the Profession and anti-illegal practices’, while Badiali will speak about ‘Countering illegal practices in the exercise of the activity: an opportunity for the profession’. ‘The supervisory activities carried out by the Chamber of Commerce and the Consumer Guarantee Mark’ will be the topic illustrated by the General Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce Pierluigi Giuntoli, while the lawyer Francesco Pedone of the Grosseto Bar will talk about ‘Anti-money laundering: obligations to be fulfilled. How to organize your own structure’. Finally, Lt. Col. Umberto Piro, Commander of PEF Guardia di Finanza Unit of Grosseto will discuss ‘Inspections and controls. Operating modes’.

The event, organized by the Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Grosseto University Center Foundation, will take place in person only and registration is not necessary. Participants who request it will be issued a certificate of participation.
