GALLARATE – The rebirth of Palazzo Minoletti it’s getting closer and closer. Today June 5th deputy mayor Rocco Longobardi brought the hypothesis to the council for approval Economic, social and territorial relaunch agreement (Arest) aimed at carrying out the interventions included in the project called “Gallarate in Lombardy and Europe 2022”. In other words, it is the conversion of the former Casa del Fascio in Piazza Garibaldi into a Higher technical institute, a project that enjoys funding from the Lombardy Region amounting to 2 million euros. Today’s resolution officially gives mandate to the mayor Andrea Cassani to sign the Agreement.
The project
The intervention concerns the creation, in the Gallarate area, of a highly specialized training center for professional trainingintended for a vast area of the regional territory, which has already acquired numerous memberships of companies and economic operators particularly interested in the professional figures trained by the highly specialized courses of Its Incom through the redevelopment and regeneration of Palazzo Minoletti, which will become the space for carrying out the educational and institutional activities of the Its Incom Foundation.
The public intervention involves the recovery of the historic building through building and plant interventions preparatory to the identification of spaces for carrying out teaching activities, areas for experimental laboratories, as well as reception areas, offices, refreshments and warehouses. The project includes the restoration of the facadesworks of a structural nature and on heating, plumbing, electrical and fire prevention systems. The terrace will also be arrangeddestined to become one of the most evocative corners of the city center.
Courses
The training proposal that will be activated within the Minoletti aims to respond to the employment needs of companies of the IT, telecommunications and digital communication sectors. The skills most sought after by Lombardy companies on the job market are digital, mathematical and IT skills and the ability to apply 4.0 technologies. In particular, companies require incoming professional figures medium-high level digital skills (68%) which are also of strategic importance in the Gallarate area in which medium-high technology or knowledge-intensive sectors are particularly represented. Specifically, the following highly specialized professional training courses will be activated: Cloud Developer, Digital Marketing Manager, Web Designer, Manufacturing Design, Internet of things (iot), Data Analyst, Web Developer, Networking and Security, Sales Management, Digital Tourism, Hospitality & Events, Cloud and Cybersecurity Systems Engineer, AR/VR Game Developer , Robotics and Digital Twin.
Costs and times
The set of interventions envisaged in the Agreement, as a whole, entail an investment of 14.9 million euros. Of these, the co-financing share borne by the Municipality of Gallarate is equal to 3.9 million euros which the public body will recover through the building rental contract. Lombardy Region will allocate 2 million eurosWhile Incom Foundation will put 8.9 million euros on the table, i.e. the total costs expected on the basis of the set-up and multi-year teaching planning. The timetable envisages obtaining the executive design and authorization from the Superintendence by 2024 and then starting work in spring 2025. The start of the teaching activity is estimated for December 2026. At the end of the meeting, the deputy mayor commented with satisfaction Rocco Longobardi: «Restoring life and light to Palazzo Minoletti is an important objective, from the beginning of the mandate it has been an important challenge for this administration. I think all of Gallarate agrees to reopen this historic building in the heart of our city. The fact that it will become an Its is a further sign of attention for our economic activities because there will be many people who will attend it for post-diploma courses.
