The Pale Sky Trail on Sunday

Everything you need to know about the 4th edition of the Pale Sky Trail scheduled for Sunday 9 June 2024

The picture of attendance at the Pale Sky Trail is completing, the only Umbrian event on the national Fisky calendar which on Sunday will award the Fidal regional long trail titles. In its fourth edition, the race in Pale, a small town near Foligno, is reaching truly impressive participation numbers, considering that a few days before the event, more than 300 participants have already been registered and many have yet to give their consent.

Some prominent names from the local scene and beyond have already confirmed their presence. For example, the outgoing champion Francesca Farneti returns, but will be competing on the short course. On the 34 km for 2,500 meters of the long route there is therefore room for worthy challengers such as the naturalized Polish Malgorzata Burkiewicz, seventh this year at the Ronda Ghibellina or Laura Mariani, on the podium at the last Alpe della Luna Trail or Monia Ventura, third last year and hunting for the big target.

Not least the male presences with Giuseppe Marini third just last Sunday at the Trail Sacred Forests, Matteo Zucchini 7th at the 100 Km of Conero and 12th at the Passatore, Lorenzo Bronchinetti 2nd at the Pale Sky Trail last year.

Appointment in Ponte Santa Lucia, 600 meters from the town, where the long race will start at 8:00 on Sunday, and the short route of 16 km by 1,000 meters will start at 9:00 which will award 1 Itra point. Prizes for the top 3 overall and for category winners.
