two men caught with cocaine and hashish

BRINDISI – They were caught with several doses of narcotic substances, including cocaine and hashish. Two men were arrested last Monday (3 June) in via Benvenuto Cellini, in the San’Elia district, during a territorial control service carried out by the Carabinieri of the Operational Intervention Company of Naples, who have been supporting their colleagues from the Brindisi provincial command for days , in view of the G7 scheduled for 13 to 15 June.

The military seized around 10 doses of cocaine and a few grams of hashish. The alleged drug dealers were stopped and put on board the police vehicle. The scene was noticed by numerous citizens. Someone showed signs of intolerance towards the police, giving rise to moments of tension. But the military, thanks to the experience gained in the Campania capital, managed to secure the two arrested men and take them to the barracks. The two, apparently, were already in the police force for drug crimes.

The summit between the heads of state will take place in the Borgo Egnazia resort, but the territorial control services have also been strengthened in the capital, where the gala dinner is scheduled for the evening of 13 June, in the setting of the Castello Svevo. Policemen and carabinieri arrived from all over Italy, to support the police forces already on duty in the Brindisi area. The checks will be further intensified in the coming days.
