Fano (Pesaro), 27 June 2024 – The father he understood everything, his mother perhaps didn’t. Both killed by their son in the night with coldness, cruelty and ruthlessness. Perhaps because he was looking for money at home of his parents or for who knows what demon of the mind that pushed him to want his father and mother dead, that is Giuseppe Ricci aged 75former carpenter and Luisa Marconi, housewife, resident in Fano. Yesterday, the two autopsies confirmed the investigators’ suspicions.

Luca Ricci, this is the name of the self-confessed murderer, who lived upstairs from his parents’ 70 square meter apartment in via Fanella 127, had been called around 1.30 am by his mother because he wasn’t feeling well. He came down and after a few minutes, in the kitchen, he decided to kill her strangling her: “I grabbed her from behind, squeezing the phone charging cord around her neck. She died in a short time.”

Then Ricci he went to the room where his father Giuseppe was sleeping. “I took a rag and I placed it over his eyes because I couldn’t watch it. Then I hit him with something I don’t remember, maybe a hammer.”

But yesterday’s autopsy revealed that the elderly carpenter did not die immediately. She reacted. His arms and hands show many signs of blows received: the man woke up, he raised his arms, he tried to stop his son’s murderous rampage but without success.

The blows to the head counted by the pathologist there were at least 11 and all launched with violence, to kill. “I didn’t want to make them suffer” Luca Ricci repeated several times during the interrogation, as if killing them was a less serious problem than suffering. Instead his father Giuseppe, known by all as Giorgio, he understood perfectly what his son was doing to him, trying to stem the blows but that position, in bed, left him no escape. He died after an agony lasted four or five minutes. The fractures to his head, which were very deep, left him no chance of survival.

Right away After, the murderer opened all the drawers, presumably looking for the money he thought was there because he knew that the parents would have to pay it that morning dapproximately 14 thousand euros as advance rent of their former house sold at auction to pay off his own debts. The police arrived at 8.30 the other morning, after the alarm raised by the murderer – “My parents don’t answer and don’t open the door” – finding the house turned upside down. Meanwhile tomorrow there will be the hearing to validate the arrest by the investigating judge. Luca Ricci will have the chance to explain the horror of that night.
