In recent days, the police officers of the Barletta police station, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of Trani, proceeded with the arrest of a thirty-two-year-old Algerian.

The Pantera of the Via Manzoni police station intervened following a report from a police operator on surveillance duty at the local Prefecture who, alerted by the screams coming from outside, noticed the presence of a man, in via Cialdini, who was threatening passers-by in the street brandishing a kitchen knife.

The operator, keeping the individual under constant visual control, warned the Agents to pay particular attention since the attacker had managed, in the meantime, to partially hide the knife under a fabric sleeve, which he wore on his right arm, from which However, the blade could be seen.

State Police operators initially attempted to calm him down. However, their efforts were in vain, the man, in fact, reacted energetically, trying to escape. Furthermore, at this juncture, he took out a large kitchen knife, with a blade of approximately 12 cm, launching empty slashes and railing with phrases such as “Go away!! Go away!!”

Despite the violence shown, the Agents, with great professionalism and caution, managed to disarm him.

The arrested person, an Algerian citizen without a fixed abode and irregular on the national territory, after the ritual investigations was arrested and accompanied to the Trani prison at the disposal of the Judicial Authority.
