It’s a citizen of Anzio residing in viale Roma to ask for information “on why and how the redevelopment works on the Piazza Roma park, a project approved and financed by the PNNR, have been suspended for about ten days.
The contractor company, contacted by telephone, confirmed the suspension of the works but, despite insistence to know the reasons, did not want to release information on the matter, inviting anyone interested to contact the Municipality. I hope this park doesn’t become yet another unfinished work. Why, if not now, close to summer, when should we make an equipped and safe park available to the children of the neighborhood (and not only) where they can give vent to their natural desire for movement and playful activity?”.
And the Municipality of Anzio responded promptly.
During the course of the works, the need to carry out interventions became apparent, mainly connected with the safety and healthiness of the site. Such as, for example, the felling of some diseased trees in greater numbers than those envisaged in the project: this resulted in a greater surface area subject to solar exposure, with the need to review the hydraulic system to ensure adequate irrigation of the remaining plants and, at the same time, a different layout of the lighting system and the consequent video surveillance system, remodeled according to the indications dictated by the Local Police Command.
All these variations, aimed at ensuring the creation of a work that is even more compliant with the objectives of the project and functional to the needs of the community, will be executable only after a correct authorization procedure by the Ministry, which are close to being perfected.
