The Municipality’s Personnel Department promotes the public administration as a possible employer for students of the capital’s high schools. The event held this morning at the Liceo Carducci is part of the activities undertaken by the City of Bolzano in order to inform young people about job opportunities and the professionalism sought in the public administration. The variety (from the pharmacist to the geologist; from the librarian to the accountant; from the carpenter to the chef) and the peculiarities of the various professional profiles in the local authority were presented to the students of the school with the aim of enhancing the role of the public employee who today is required, in addition to technical knowledge, also communication skills and the use of IT tools to be able to manage activities and services aimed at citizens well and professionally.
The objective of the initiative, as underlined at the opening of the meeting by the competent Councilor Christian Battisti, is to raise awareness of the various sectors of the administration so that young people approaching high school diploma can also include the Municipality of Bolzano. Councilor Battisti recalled how the world of work is undergoing sudden changes: on the one hand new professions are being created, on the other many others are disappearing or require new organizational models. Precisely because of this combination of factors, more and more people are trying to build their working future based on their skills or talents. The municipal administration promotes all those initiatives to strengthen the ability to attract young newly graduated/graduated personnel.
In order to achieve this objective, meetings are regularly organized with the city’s high schools during which the different sectors of the public body are presented, highlighting their various potential. The aim is precisely to show young people the job opportunities within the Municipality of Bolzano after high school diploma or university studies and professional opportunities. Some municipal officials and employees who spoke this morning illustrated the activity carried out in some strategic sectors of the Municipality and explained what knowledge and skills are useful for carrying out the activity in a specific professional field.
