On Wednesday 5 June, in view of the high airport traffic season, “Marconi Express 949”: the new line on 100% electric buses, activated by Marconi Express and Tper in agreement with the Municipality of Bologna, will support the monorail service during the summer, directly connecting Marconi airport and the city center, with the terminus in the square Malpighi, without intermediate stops.

The line will be active for a period of three months until September 8th and will last 22 hours a day, starting from 4 am (with the first ride from Piazza Malpighi) until 2 am (last ride from the airport at 1.32 am). The frequency will be one ride every 33 minutes. The fleet that will make the connection includes only ecological and 100% electric buses, including 3 new models of the Heuliez brand by Iveco Bus, supplied to Marconi Express by Maresca and Fiorentino.

On the new service you can use i Marconi Express titles at the same price as the monorailwith the possibility of payment through the “Pay&Go Contactless” system at the turnstiles installed on the buses: the tickets include urban integration of 75 minutes and full operability with the people mover.

It is also available new discounted fare “Flex solo Bus 949”, worth 9.80 euros for a single trip, without urban integration. The ticket can only be purchased on online channelto theticket machine present at the “Airport” terminus (payment by credit card is recommended) and throughRoger appselecting the title “Flex solo Bus 949”.

To meet user habits in the coming weeks the night line “Marconi Express 940” will remain activewhich guarantees the connection between the High Speed ​​station and the airport for passengers departing with the first flights of the morning and arriving with the last ones of the night.

At the end of the summer period, Marconi Express and the Municipality of Bologna will evaluate whether to propose the service again.
