Tomorrow, Wednesday 5 June, starting from 12 pm at the Auditorium of the PalaCultura “Antonello da Messina” the event “PON Metro Messina – Together we can grow” will be held, an important opportunity for discussion and sharing, in which journalists and citizens are invited to participate, through the story of the results and goals achieved by the City thanks to the Program Operational Metropolitan Cities 2014-2020.

The mayor Federico Basile, the general director and Intermediate Body PON Metro Salvo Puccio, the Councilors of the relevant branches and the Presidents and members of the Board of Directors of the investee companies involved in the implementation of the projects will be present at the event.

A “journey” enriched by multimedia content and the stories of the protagonists, among the stories, places and interventions of a Program which, thanks to a careful multi-year strategy and a financial endowment exceeding 160 million euros, has made it possible to make important changes to the urban fabric and services to citizens, as well as laying the foundations for the new 2021-2027 Programming. The speakers’ interventions will accompany, step by step, the audience present among the Axes and the main thematic areas of the Program which have made it possible to make Messina an increasingly “European” city and close to its citizens. Digitalisation of the territory, energy efficiency, green mobility, support for social inclusion activities, urban redevelopment and reforestation are just part of the macro-themes on which the meeting will focus and which have seen in the interventions financed by the PON Metro 2014-2020 a decisive support for the growth and development of the City of Messina.

The start of the works will be preceded by the inauguration of the exhibition “GuardaME: Messina and the PON Metro 2014-2020”, promoted by the Basile Administration and curated by the General Management-European Policies Service Department, exhibited in the foyer of the PalaCultura and which will offer the opportunity for all citizens to be able to see with their own eyes the “history” of the interventions carried out in the City thanks to the Programme, with graphic reproductions and technical-economic details of the main projects.

The exhibition can be visited every day, even on weekends, until July 4th, from 9am to 1pm and from 4pm to 8pm.
