Respect the rules of living together and raise awareness of civic education. This is the objective of the moral fine, the project presented this morning in Trapani, at Palazzo d’Alì.

The project, which has the patronage of the Municipality of Trapani, was born from a collaboration between the Live association and Angela Grignano.

Angela, currently a city councilor in Trapani, was victim of an explosion in Paris and has been fighting since 2019 to ensure that all the rights of disabled people are respected. Among all, that of reserved parking.
Because, unfortunately, there are quite a few citizens who, despite not having any disabilities, occupy reserved parking spaces. From there Angela’s fight was born, first alone, then together with some students she met over the years, now with other local associations (such as APRI, Live and Forum Trapani Accessibile).

All together to say enough to those gestures made because, simply, we want “everything comfortable”. So much so that this morning many showed off the t-shirt with a slogan that says it all: “Is your comfort worth more than my disability?”.

And so was born what has today been defined as a moral fine: not a real fine to pay, but a pink slip that aims to stir the consciences of those who, even without thinking about it or “just for a minute”, occupies the seats reserved for disabled people, slides and pedestrian crossings.

A project, that of the moral fine, in which the disabled and the associations present today in Palazzo d’Alì strongly believe and have demonstrated it, asking for respect and a bit of civility.
