Waiting to find out who will be the future coach of Cagliariamong the hottest names circulating on the radio market is that of Gianluca Lapadula. The Italian-Peruvian bomber, linked until 2025 with the rossoblù club and therefore expiring in twelve months, in recent days has been linked in particular to Massimo Cellino’s Brescia, with the former president of the Sardinian club wanting him in Lombardy in view of next season.
Season
A vintage Not simple the one just passed for Gianluca Lapadula, from the missed retirement due to a knee problem that kept him out for the first 11 games of the season, to some physical problems that interfered with continuity of performance in the central part of the championship. Ailments which, however, did not prevent Claudio Ranieri’s number 9 from having his personal hand in important moments. Like the 1-1 goal that kicked off the comeback against Sassuolo on the 15th matchday or the goal that unlocked the match during the direct clash with Salernitana at the Unipol Domus in the 28th round (won 4-2 by Sardinians). To conclude with the 2-0 goal which definitively closed the accounts for the question of survival, again against Sassuolo, but in the penultimate stage of Serie A. An overall haul in the national top flight of 23 appearances and 3 goals, with the heart and the determination that have always been the basis of his performances. Factor which allowed the Cagliari striker to have his say despite the inconveniences that got in the way during the year.
Future
It is still early to talk about Lapadula’s future, especially considering the many question marks linked to the next rossoblù coach. The player found himself well in Sardinia, he is among the most loved and with the promotion from Serie B to A achieved in the previous season he contributed to writing a piece of history for the island club. On the one hand the feeling with Cagliari and Cagliari, on the other the transfer sirens with the former president of the Sa Ruina club Massimo Cellino who would have set his sights on the Peruvian striker for his Brescia. At the moment, however, according to what has been gathered, this is not the case no interest by the Lombards. Lapadula’s head is now turned towards the Peru, more precisely at the first friendly match leading up to the next Copa America, scheduled for Saturday 8 June against Paraguay. At the moment the situation linked to the future of the former AC Milan striker is very clear, with the reservations regarding his stay on the island which will be dissolved only once you know the name of the next trainer of Cagliari.
