Waterspout in Livorno is now a social phenomenon

A rare and majestic sight appeared last Sunday off the coast of Livorno. At least three waterspouts would have formed between the Vada lighthouse and Quercianella

ROME – More columns of air, imposing and even frightening, appeared along the horizon, off the coast of Livorno, surprising those on the shore or the residents of the buildings on the “front line” on the coast. Last Sunday, June 2in fact in the afternoon at least three waterspouts would have formed offshore between the lighthouse of Go And Quercianella in the Tuscan city.

The phenomenon remained visible for a few minutes even from the ground, and then to disappear in the clouds, leaving time to be immortalized by the numerous spectators who managed to photograph and film it via smartphone, and then “post” it on social media.

Despite their frightening appearance, the waterspouts that appeared in Livorno remained offshore, without reaching the mainland, without causing damage or posing a danger to people.
