Injury for Ogden: in doubt for Game 3 against Trapani

After yesterday’s match, after the 72 to 70 defeat against Trapani, Fortitudo winger Mark Ogden was taken to hospital. The reason was a strong blow against a wall due to anger. Here the player had about ten stitches on his hand, and subsequent bandaging. His presence will therefore be in strong doubt for game 3, scheduled for next Friday at PalaDozza.

Challenging series

Ogden’s injury adds to an unfortunate series of events that Fortitudo is experiencing during this very complicated series against the Sharks. In addition to Ogden, Aradori also suffered a serious injury to his Achilles tendon which will presumably keep him away from the field for a long time and certainly for the entire course of the Playoff Final. Furthermore, a few days before Game 2 Freeman had a strong fever, which forced him to play under pace. In view of the third match of the series, which could potentially be decisive, the conditions are not positive.

The defeat in Game 2

Ogden’s anger was mainly triggered by the controversial ending of Game 2. In addition to the questionable refereeing choices of the trio, the defeat also came due to strong nervousness perceived by all the players on the pitch. The post match, with Caja’s fury towards the Trapani fans and subsequently towards President Antonini, concluded an evening to forget. Despite this, Effe is still active in the series, and may have a chance to shorten Friday night.

The program

Fortitudo Flats Service Bologna will observe the following program for the remaining matches of the Final against Trapani. For the moment, only Game 3 is certain, with the possibility for the Sicilians to close the series with a Sweep and obtain Promotion at the same time.
