Fatal accident on Sassari-Alghero: a truck fell from the overpass at the junction for Pallets and the driver, the 65-year-old Sandro Ascione, died after being stuck between the sheets of metal. Unfortunately they were of no use attempts to resuscitate him by the healthcare personnel who arrived on site with the 118 helicopter and an ambulance.

The accident occurred this morning, Tuesday 4 June, just before 10.30am.
THE fire fighters of the Sassari power station intervened on the SS 291 where, at Bancali, a truck was precipitate off an overpass.

The fire brigade reached the vehicle and proceeded to extract the driver from the wreckage.

In the meantime the medical staff of 118 who tried to resuscitate the 65-year-old for about 40 minutes.
Unfortunately, however, there was nothing that could be done for Ascione.
The hypotheses: illness or fatal distraction while driving
