VENICE – Il Volo, concert in Venice on July 4th. Ignazio, Piero and Gianluca: «We are proud to sing in Piazza San Marco». «We are very excited, the idea of singing here makes us proud». This is the shared thought of Ignazio Boschetto, Piero Barone and Gianluca Ginoble, unmistakable voices of the Il Volo trio, who will kick off the season of great concerts in Piazza San Marco in Venice on July 4th, with a stop on their “Tutti for a Masterpiece”. The event was presented this morning, in the presence of the artists, in the ballroom of the Correr Museum.

The event

The group will accompany the audience through the great successes of the Italian musical tradition, which have made them famous throughout the world in their 15-year career. “Opera singing became part of the World Heritage List last year, and we are the only young people who bring this culture around the world,” Ginoble said. Barone echoed him: «We will sing the songs that we have inherited from our cultural heritage. We feel privileged to have been born in Italy.” The setlist will not lack the group’s great hits, from ‘Grande amore’ to ‘Capolavoro’, the song with which they participated in the latest edition of the Sanremo Festival. It’s not official yet, but “the concert could begin to the tune of Ennio Morricone”, said Barone, also recalling their recording tribute to the unforgettable Italian composer. Morricone will be honored in the city of Venice, again in Piazza San Marco, even a few days before the trio’s performance: on 29 June, in fact, the soundtrack of the drama ‘Marco Polo’, produced by Rai in 1982 and composed by the maestro, it will be performed for the first time as part of the celebrations for the 700th anniversary of the death of the Venetian traveler and merchant.
