ASD Sumiraghese is the new football reality of Sumiragoin the province of Varese, whose first team plays in the third category championship. It is chaired by the entrepreneur Nikaj Naim, which intends to strongly relaunch its youth sector, also thanks to a possible future affiliation with a professional club. The head of the youth sector Dario Trentin explains these projects in more detail: «We intend to form pre-competition teams, aimed at the categories of Little Friends, Chicks and Beginners; this is an initiative also encouraged by the Municipality of Sumirago, with the aim of giving the children and teenagers who live here the possibility of being able to play football in the team of their country of residence. We would also like to have a coach available to be able to accompany them to the pitch for home games, in case their parents – due to various commitments – are unable to accompany them. As instructors and coaches for the Football School, we will try to have profiles with degrees in Sports Sciences and UEFA C licenses; at Primi Calci and Piccoli Amici, very young children, the preparatory steps for football are taught.”

Trentin also goes on to mention future ideas on the teams in the sector competitive: «We aim to form, within a couple of years, also categories on the eleven-a-side field, including the Under 18 el’ Under 19, who are also followed by coaches with a degree in Sports Science and a UEFA B or UEFA C license”; then highlights the educational aspect: «Our priority isfootball evolution general. Regarding the Football School categories, we would also like to collaborate with a psychologist and have a relationship of dialogue and communication with the families. I believe that parents should leave children free to express their skills on the pitch, teaching them how to be in a team, respecting their teammates, opponents, coaches and managers. We give all children and teenagers the opportunity to play football with us and have fun.”

The head of the youth sector suggests the correct mental attitude for each of their categories, then explains: «From Primi Calci to Pulcini, we will provide the basics of football, team play, and the appropriate way of being on the pitch; for the rookies we always try to win matches in the name of cohesion and respect, and for future competitive teams the main objective is to qualify for the regional championships. Personally, I was already responsible for the youth sector of the then Sumirago Boys. In the past I coached Primi Calci and Pulcini in Sumirago, Crenna, Antoniana di Busto Arsizio, and at the then Vergherese. This role of mine reflects my great passion for football.” Trentin concludes by focusing on another future project: «Later on we will evaluate whether to also form women’s teams here».
