Confcooperative Umbria expresses deep satisfaction for the approval of the provision of Regional Council of Umbria, which provides for a review of fees for social and health services. The news was communicated during a press conference, in the presence of the Governor of Umbria, Donatella Tesei. During the event, it was highlighted how this measure represents a crucial step for the social cooperatives belonging to Confcooperative Umbria, allowing them to respect the commitments undertaken in the recent renewal of the National Collective Agreement for social cooperation.

Carlo Di Somma, regional president of the association, declared: “We acknowledge that the path announced by President Tesei during our Regional Assembly has concluded successfully. We can now address the new standards aimed at improving the quality of the services offered and ensuring adequate recognition of the valuable work carried out by our members. This provision represents a significant progress for the entire sector of social cooperation in Umbria, demonstrating the effectiveness of collaboration between institutions and cooperatives. We will now proceed with the signing of the agreement, which will start the accreditation renewal procedures and new agreements, asking that the developed guidelines be respected for the stability of the entire system”.

Also Roberta Veltrini, president of Confcooperative-Federsolidarietà, underlined the importance of this decision: “This is a long-awaited measure. In some cases, the fees had remained unchanged since 2005. Thanks to this regional council, which has shown great sensitivity and determination, today we can finally see the concrete results of a shared commitment. L’update of fees it is essential to guarantee the economic sustainability of social cooperatives and to continue to offer high quality services to the people most in need”.

Lorenzo Mariani, regional secretary of Confcooperative Umbria, added: “This act allows us to look with greater confidence at the survival of social cooperative enterprises and our regional welfare. 9,500 operators find employment in social cooperative enterprises who offer essential services to families and vulnerable individuals, improving the quality of life of 100,000 Umbrian citizens. The revision of the fees represents a sign of attention and responsibility towards the human capital of Umbrian social cooperatives members of Confcooperative, with average adjustments of around 15%, and in some bands, up to 20%”.

Confcooperative Umbria has always been committed to promoting and supporting social cooperation, with the aim of continuously improving the quality of the services offered and guaranteeing dignified and fair working conditions for all its members. This provision marks a fundamental stage in the growth and development of the sector. The revision of fees not only responds to current economic needs, but also recognizes the value of the work carried out by social cooperatives in the community.

Di Somma concluded: “Today an important discussion was held with the Region to discuss the details of the concrete application of the approved resolution. This meeting represents an impetus for the implementation of the new fees and the definition of operational standards, ensuring that cooperatives can continue to provide excellent services and respect the commitments made to their workers. We express thanks to the members of the cooperatives for their continuous commitment and dedication and thanks to president Tesei for the courageous and far-sighted political choice”.

The governor Tesei, addressing the operators and the press, highlighted: “With the DGR the Regional Council has chosen to maintain a high quality of the socio-health service in our region, enhancing the work of the thousands of operators of the Umbrian social cooperatives for the benefit of the entire regional community . This choice looks at the present and future of our community, closing a question that has been stuck since 2009, the date of the last resolution on tariffs by the Regional Council”.

The regional councilor Andrea Fora he spoke of a “unique intervention in Italy” and hoped that other municipal administrations would follow the example of the municipal council of Perugia and Terni. Francesco Francescagliarepresenting the entire regional structure, was thanked by Di Somma for his decisive contribution in the successful outcome of the process in favor of the 9,500 worker members of the Umbrian social cooperatives which provide services to approximately 90,000 Umbrian citizens.
