Donnarumma, Zanellati or Fortin? They are all candidates for a starting shirt for next season
It will be one of the first pieces that sporting director Mirabelli will have to think about for next season. Who will defend the white shield goal for 2024/25? Looking at home, there are currently three candidates for the starting role: Donnarumma And Zanellati they are expiring, but they could renew (the first renewal, however, would certainly exclude the second), Fortin returning from Legnago is the other option.
Donnarumma is happy in Padua, he is keen to stay as he has already declared on several occasions (even denying his agent, during the last days of the last winter transfer window), and would gladly renew the contract. At the moment, however, the conditions don’t seem to be right and the current number 1 doesn’t appear to be suitable pole position. Zanellati could have a chance instead, as he has always shown himself to be up to the task when called upon. Zanellati would agree to remain in Padua only as a starter. If both were not renewed, the Fortin hypothesis would gain strength. The young goalkeeper has just returned from a very convincing season in Legnago as a starter, an excellent experience for the 2003 son of art. Another possibility is that, in the face of an important offer, Fortin is sold for yet another capital gain. Everything will depend on Oughourlian’s indications on budget and objectives. Then the goalkeeper will be one of Mirabelli’s first moves…
