04.06.2024 – 12.30 – From 5 to 26 June, in Wels (Austria), the “Galerie Die Forum” proposes a review organized by Art Projects Association of Trieste and titled OUR SEA whose purpose is to raise awareness among the community about the problem ofpollution of the seas. The Trieste Association chaired by Qing Yue (Cinzia Giancovich) has involved 13 artists, seven of whom are from Trieste, to carry out its exhibition project which intends to promote a global artistic dialogue, connecting visions and positions coming from Austria and Italy. The aim is to create a platform for discussion that goes beyond national borders and addresses urgent issues such as pollution, migration and sustainability.

Ocean pollution is an increasingly pressing problem, as is competition for vital resources, including water. The Mediterranean, today as in the past, is an area of conflict and crisis. Faced with this abyss, people are disoriented and helpless: too many lives are lost by those who flee with the hope of a better future, seeking refuge in “fortress Europe”. However, this fortress is increasingly undermined, not by the movement of people, but by policies that ruthlessly deplete resources and undermine socially responsible ideologies.
Socio-political answers to these complex challenges can only be found at the international level.

The exhibition, which is presented by Peter Assmann, art historian, writer and visual artist, is enriched by a literary-musical program, designed to deepen and broaden the reflections raised by the works on display. This integrative program aims to further stimulate awareness and debate on issues that affect us all, regardless of where we come from.

Participating artists: Peter Assmann, Patrizia Bigarella, Raffaella Busdon, Barbara Cecchini, Ferdinand Goetz, Paul Jaeg, Delphi Morpurgo, Franco Rosso, Qing Yue, Wolfgang Maria Reiter, Isa Stein, Alessandro Vascotto, Richard Wall.
