“The Borgo Alluvionato and Via Ponte Romano Committees in Faenza, with reference to the latest statement from the Romagna United Flood Committees of Saturday 1 June and the controversies that followed, reiterate: the government’s promises have to date been completely disregarded.
Only a reasonable, realistic and dignified flat-rate estimate of the damage to movable property based on the number of cadastral spaces will be able to induce the flood victim to request and accept the proposed compensation, avoiding unnecessary further expenses for very complex procedures, which would then have to be paid for by the State .
Unfortunately, it must be noted that there is a lack of political awareness of the fact that flood damage is very different from earthquake damage which does not normally affect the functionality of movable property… this is truly distressing, serious and unacceptable
It is very serious and unacceptable not to have activated the tax credit mechanism to date after one year… private reconstruction is a complete failure.
The Borgo and Via Ponte Romano committees in Faenza are non-partisan, they do not want to get involved in political controversy, but after 2 floods they have full legitimacy to criticize the government’s failed promises after having also criticized the region and the Municipality on the issue of security.”
