Decisive days for the future of Leandro Rinaudo whose contract as sporting director with Palermo FC expires on June 30th
Decisive week at Palermo. Big maneuvers for the future and key roles to be assigned in view of a season in which the Rosanero club wants to play the absolute protagonist in the cadet tournament. Alessio Dionisi, former Venezia, Empoli and Sassuolo, seems to have overtaken Paolo Zanetti in the race to become the manager of the Viale del Fante club, the next few hours being decisive in knowing the heir of Corini and Mignani at the helm of Palermo FC. The puzzle regarding the sporting director’s seat is still complex to resolve. It remains to be understood whether to opt for a synergistic and complementary profile alongside the CFG sports area consultant, Riccardo Bigon, or to turn to a manager with greater strategic and operational autonomy. Meanwhile, Leandro Rinaudo, sporting director of the Sicilian club in the last two years, is waiting to find out his future this week in which he should have a discussion with management and ownership. A thoroughbred Palermitan, the former Venezia and Cremonese boasts a truly unique journey with the colors of the team he has been a fan of since he was a child. Today’s edition of the Giornale di Sicilia highlights the journey completed at all levels by the boy from Kalsa, from the early days of the youth sector as a footballer, to his debut in the first team, up to the brace in the Europa League at Barbera against Brondby. Career then unfolded between B and A, with Siena, Napoli and Juventus among others, then the return to the Sicilian capital in the new Palermo of Mirri and Di Piazza in 2019. Head of the youth sector, then the leap to director of the first team after the Castagnini’s resignation. Two years in which Rinaudo has grown in terms of specific skills, relational skills and mastery of the role, becoming the protagonist, together with Bigon, of transfer sessions that were nevertheless considered to be of high quality, both last summer and in January. The quality of the players is not always enough to create a winning team, as demonstrated by the results not exactly equal to the expectations provided by the field, linked to a multitude of factors that are independent of the overall technical figure of a squad. Rinaudo’s contract with Palermo FC expires on June 30th and the club could opt for a changing of the guard in the management of the technical area. However, a certainty remains, as underlined by the well-known regional newspaper, the visceral and indissoluble bond between Rinaudo and the rosanero colours.
