our proposals for business to the mayoral candidates of Avellino

“More attention to local production activities and specific measures to protect local trade. This is the commitment we ask of the mayoral candidates of the city of Avellino and of the other 40 municipalities of Irpinia voting”. Thus Giuseppe Marinelli, provincial president of Confesercenti Avellino.

“The tertiary sector – continued the manager of the trade association – is an important resource for the economy and employment in our province, but unfortunately for a long time it has been facing significant and continuous critical issues.

In particular, local shops, which especially in small towns in inland areas represent a service and a defense for communities against growing desertification, are finding it increasingly difficult to move forward, crushed by large-scale distribution and international online sales platforms. , who operate from extremely advantageous positions, creating a situation of unfair competition, from growing management costs and from the general decline in family consumption, caused by inflation.

Even in urban centres, such as the capital, the defense of small commercial activities, which have a long tradition in Avellino, is not only a priority for relaunching the economy and guaranteeing assortment and quality for consumers, but also a factor of social and recreational, together with the restaurant, bar and leisure activities segment, as well as a barrier against the degradation and devaluation of real estate and housing assets.

It is therefore highly appropriate and necessary, within an overall strategy of development and productive modernisation, to be implemented with the synergy of all institutional levels and the collaboration of the social and business partners, that the Municipalities prepare initiatives and take on measures to facilitate activities.

In particular, as regards the capital city, we are now proposing to the future administration, urging the candidates to take clear positions on the matter, some essential programmatic points, such as the reduction of the Tari, in a manner to be established, which today is among the highest in Italy; the availability to define a program of events aimed at promoting trade and events that have concrete and lasting impacts for the community and for all local activities; the commitment to revitalize the municipal trade council, as a place of effective discussion with the body, which has been on hold for some time.
