“Peace is the only possible choice: if we want to stop the arms race, if we want to build a Europe of rights and equality, if we want to avoid definitive environmental collapse, if we want to guarantee a future for future generations. This is why we propose and ask for support a European project which, taking up the indications of Article 11 of our Constitution, undertakes to implement the following guidelines: the European Union undertakes to adopt all the measures and initiatives necessary to establish a supranational system that ensures peace and justice ; the European Union is committed to reducing expenditure on the production of weapons and to increasing social spending on health and education: the European Union is committed to strengtheningUnited Nations Organization (UN) as a political and diplomatic mediator in conflict situations”.
“As a Peace Forum – concludes the appeal – we believe that only a commitment to peace and justice makes any European future possible and credible and it is by virtue of this conviction that we ask you to vote for the political forces that share and support this project”.
