Catanzaro. Storm at Dulbecco: budget postponed, administrative and health director changes

Troubled moment at the Aou ‘Renato Dulbecco’ in Catanzaro. Added to the delays in the adoption of fundamental documents (see company document and construction of the second emergency room in Germaneto) is the storm surrounding top positions.

The extraordinary commissioner Simona Carbone formally took note of the resignation of Antonio Mantella (presented last May 30th) and thus announced the notice to find the new administrative director. The other shock concerns the healthcare side. Carbone, despite the candidacy presented by the health director Giuseppe Panella he chose another: Domenico Perri from Aversa, which will begin service from mid-June. He changes the command of the Aou ‘Dulbecco’ less than a year after the extraordinary commissioner took office.

Added to this situation is also the decision to postpone the adoption of the 2023 final balance sheet (which should be the merger of the two former companies which should have been done much earlier). In reality, in addition to 2023, the (re)adoption of the 2022 budget is also postponed, as requested (of all companies) by the ministries supervising the recovery plan and by the Region. Dulbecco’s document states that these activities “require a complex in-depth investigation aimed at possible re-adoption, also in relation to the impact of the related accounting operations on the 2022 financial year compared to the opening of the 2023 financial year on 1 January, which represents, applying the criterion of accounting backdating”. To complete these operations we await validation from an external advisor. Source: La Nuova Calabria
