Penultimate friendly match for Luciano Spalletti’s Italy in the run-up to the European Championships: the choices of the Italian coach and his compatriot Montella.
From now on it gets serious, or almost. L’Italy challenges the Türkiye in a friendly match that is not just a simple friendly match, as it represents the penultimate test for Italy in view of their debut at the European Championships, scheduled in 11 days against Albania.
It will be played at the Dall’Ara in Bologna, and it will be an opportunity for the Italian coach Luciano Spalletti to put the team to the test against an opponent who, in turn, has qualified for the event in Germany: our compatriot’s Turkey Vincenzo Montella and Hakan Calhanoglu.
The Turks passed the qualifications, finishing their group in first place, complete with a historic victory in Croatia, which made Montella a favorite in the country.
After Turkey, Italy will challenge Edin Dzeko’s Bosnia: the second and final friendly before the European Championships will be played on Sunday evening, 9 June, at the Castellani stadium in Empoli.
