The seabed towards Palombina is being cleaned

Spazzapnea, waste collection at the seaside between Palombina and Collemarino. Next Sunday, the sixth edition of ‘Spazzapnea – Operation deep clean’, a national waste collection team competition, in freediving but not only, will take place simultaneously in seven Italian locations. The free event will take place in teams, both in water and on land. The appointment for Ancona, followed by the Municipality’s Sports Department and the Polytechnic University of the Marche, is at 8 am on the Palombina beach, at the height of the Collemarino wooden overpass. At the end, the body of water that hosted the event will be able to boast the ‘Spazzapnea’ flag, with publication on the official website Spazzapnea.it. The flag lasts for one year, until the next event. The event will take place simultaneously in Ancona, Genoa, Marina di Pisa, Bari – Torre a mare, Torre del Greco, Ustica, Rome. Created in Genoa in 2018 and now in its sixth edition, it will once again allow participants to transform themselves into real sea scavengers and compete by freediving or walking on the coasts. The event was born from the desire to safeguard the seas, lakes, rivers and coasts. The race (3 hours long) will start in the morning and will involve participants in each city at the same time. A net for collecting waste, a warning whistle and gloves for collecting on land and in water will be provided. For those who want to dedicate themselves to underwater research, a valid freediving license (freediving, underwater photography, underwater fishing, etc.) will be required.
