The works for the G7 cancel the Archi cycle path: new roads

Road works in view of the G7 Health: after Portonovo off to the construction sites at the Archi. The maintenance, redevelopment and safety interventions of Via Marconi and the roundabouts of the same street and the station are currently being set up. These interventions, which will begin between the end of June and the beginning of July, will also involve a reorganization of the road system. The cycle path and its interference with traffic and parking will be eliminated, parking on the sea side will be reorganized with in-line parking; the second traffic lane has been restored to improve traffic flow out of the city; a deceleration lane will be created for the left turn onto Largo Borgo Pio (by-pass entrance to the port), while the left turn just ahead onto via Marchetti will be eliminated. In the direction towards the centre, a preferential bus lane will be created from Largo Borgo Pio to the San Martino tunnel with a distance of approximately 80 centimeters from the Archi pavement. The obligation to turn right from Largo Borgo Pio onto Via Marconi has been established, the ban on turning left from Largo Borgo Pio onto Via Marconi-Stazione while the ban on turning left from Via Marchetti onto Via Marconi will be confirmed, confirmed by a central traffic island. Furthermore, new lifeguard islands will be created and some attachment points with the sidewalk will be modified. Reclamation interventions are envisaged on the road surface, which will vary depending on the state of conservation of the individual sections. Given the timing of the G7 in Ancona (9-11 October 2024), the planned public works are of an urgent nature and the contractor will have 60 days available to carry them out. The overall cost for the construction of the work is 728 thousand euros. The via Marconi-stazione section is part of the first batch of works planned in preparation for the October event. Added to this are two other lots: lot 2, whose works, worth 404 thousand euros, will begin in the next few days with the extraordinary maintenance of via XXIX Settembre (part), via Rupi, Lungomare Vanvitelli (part), via Conca (high part). Lot 3 concerns Portonovo.
