Healthcare in Lombardy: Infrastructural and Technological Strengthening of Hospitals
## Approval of Two Important Provisions for Lombardy’s healthcare system.
The Lombardy Region today approved two significant measures to strengthen the healthcare system. These measures, proposed by the Welfare councilor, aim to improve the infrastructure and technology of Lombardy’s hospitals.
## Appropriations for Equipment and Maintenance
With the first measure, the Region allocated 128.2 million euros. These funds are intended for the Lombardy Ats and Assts for the purchase of low and medium technology equipment, and for maintenance and environmental remediation interventions.
### Financing Details
– **40 million euros**: intended for the maintenance of plants, structures and equipment for the year 2024.
– **77 million euros**: for the purchase of new equipment, replacing obsolete ones.
– **11.2 million euros**: for expansion, renovation and asbestos removal works in the hospitals of Monza, Rivolta d’Adda and Cernusco sul Naviglio.
## Strategic Projects Financed with National Funds
The second measure provides for the distribution of national funds for a total of 1.141 billion euros. These funds, provided for by article 20 of Law 67/88.
